“ Such a fun spot! My daughter and I stopped by and instantly loved the vibe—Lauryn Hill’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” was playing, the outdoor setup was relaxed and inviting, and everything just felt right. The food was even better. The Texan Bratwurst was insanely good, and the chicken Crunchwrap hit the spot. Fries were seasoned perfectly—crispy and addictive. We also tried the dragon fruit drink and loved it. Already planning to come back for dinner. Gonna check out the beer list next time for sure! ”
“ This place is absolutely phenomenal. All of the food is good. The proprietor is obviously passionate about what he does and it shows in the consistent quality of the product. The location reminds me of what Austin food trucks used to be before the pandy. 11 out of 10. Take your out of town friends! ”
“ Visiting from DC and will definitely be coming back on my next visit. Incredible food but nothing beats the service here. Malcolm and Q are very attentive and consistently checked in on us. We ordered their recommended loaded fries and Plain Jane bratwurst - each bite was 10/10. If you get one thing, get the fries! ”
“ I recently visited Hippie Picnik on 11th St., just on the east side of the highway in Austin, and I’m already excited for my next visit. This gem, owned by a passionate young entrepreneur who’s been running it for four years, is a must-visit for anyone craving incredible food and a vibrant, community-focused vibe. The atmosphere is unbeatable, with a laid-back, welcoming energy that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy, and soak in the local Austin spirit. The food here is nothing short of amazing. Every dish bursts with flavor, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. They’ve got a garden on-site, which adds such a cool touch to the whole setup. The menu has something for everyone, and the prices are surprisingly affordable for the quality and portion sizes. It’s rare to find such a perfect balance of delicious food and great value in Austin. What sets Hippie Picnik apart is the experience. The location on the east side is fantastic, and they host live events that make every visit special. On Mondays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 PM, weather permitting, you can catch live music or other fun events, and sometimes they spill over to the weekends too. It’s a great spot for families, with toys available to keep kids entertained while parents enjoy the food and music. The owner also runs Hippie Ice next door, and if you spend over 20 on food, you get a free shaved ice, which is such a fun perk. I love that this is a local, homegrown business. Supporting a young entrepreneur who’s pouring so much heart into this place feels good. Whether you’re planning a casual dinner, a family outing, or an event, Hippie Picnik is the spot. The combination of fresh food, a lively atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like the garden and kid-friendly setup makes it a standout. Do yourself a favor and check it out, you won’t be disappointed. ”
“ I am obsessed with their cheesecakes and they’re such a great price for the quality and size. I haven’t had their actual food but my friends did and really enjoyed the loaded fries and brats. I’ll go out of my way to drive and find parking for their cheesecake options though. The biscoff is delicious and their strawberries are fresh, and the fruit sauces (strawberry and raspberry) for the cheesecakes are fresh and made in house apparently. The shaved ice was also very fresh and refreshing as well. Great service as well! ”
“ This place is SO good. We got the chicken doner, lab experiment (made it vegan),currywurst, large fry, pretzel, nutella crepe, and crunchwrap. The crunchwrap is definitely the best thing here, along with their fries. The owner was super chill and even gave me a small free sample of the dragonfruit flavor from their new Italian ice truck. It was the best Italian ice I've ever had! The pretzel wasn't very soft, but other than that, all the food we got was 55, which for the quality, flavor, and service is a steal in Austin. Definitely come support these people! ”
“ The Spicy Crunchwrap is the bomb! I’ve tried everything on the menu, and not a single bite disappoints. There’s something about the flavor and spice that instantly brings me back to my days in Germany , its comforting, bold, and packed with that unique street food soul. You can tell there’s real heart behind every dish. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, HIPPIE PICNIK never misses. A must-try spot that deserves all the love! ”
“ 5 stars across the board!! there was only one man there, but he was so efficient and the service was incredible. most food trucks will call your number to pick up your food and that will be the last of your interaction, but the man (who i assume was the owner) brought us our food, checked up on us several times, and threw our trash away. the food was so amazing, and we were hesitant to try it at first, but he reassured us that we would enjoy the food and even gave us recommendations. my husband and i had the Crunchwraps (i had it with doritos and beef and he had it with hot cheetos and chicken), and it’s no exaggeration when i say i left FULL and i still had a couple of bites left lol! please take your time to visit, you’ll be pleasantly surprised! ”
